I’ve been a fan of the Sol De Janeiro products for a while but haven’t written about them yet so I thought it was time I shared a short post talking about a couple of their products.
This has been a favorite of mine for a while. It is a very luxurious body cream with the best scent ever. The cream contains guaraná, a native Amazonian plant which contains a strong form of caffeine as well as cupuaçu butter, açaí and coconut oil. It has a small amount of mica to give your skin a little hint of glow. The scent is salted caramel, pistachio and vanilla and I can’t express to you how much I love that combination. When I use this product it instantly transports me to a Caribbean vacation, and that is pretty much the highest compliment I can give any product. It absorbs quickly and makes your skin look healthy, firm and radiant. The only downside is the price, $45 for 8.1 oz is pretty steep but it is a great quality product. If you’re like me and are obsessed with the scent but don’t really want to splurge on the cream, you may want to try the Crush Body Fragrance Mist of a similar scent. I also love that this product contains no animal by products, propylene glycol, synthetic colors, PEGs or petrolatum.
I just recently tried a deluxe sample of the Coco Cabana cream and I fell in love with this one too! This one is different because it is an oil-in-water gel cream that is infused with coconut sugar. This cream is said to provide up to 72 hours of moisture and is perfect for super dry skin. Ingredients include fermented sugar which is a natural humectant, coconut oil which is of course a beauty fave and cupuaçu butter for elasticity. The scent is just as amazing, a blend of coconut, toasted praline, and warm vanilla latte. My husband refers to the smell as caramel popcorn and I think that is spot on. This product is free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. This product is also vegan and cruelty-free. While I absolutely love this product, I think the Bum Bum Cream edges it out just a touch because I prefer the consistency of that one over the oil-in-water style. I also love the mica from the Bum Bum Cream. I think both products are amazing and it is just a matter of deciding which is the best fit for you personally.
