Oily Life: April

Essential Oils

Hi Everyone! This month I’ve decided to focus on what my morning routine looks like now that I’ve incorporated oils. When I first started with Young Living I was honestly so overwhelmed. There are so many different products, recipes and applications. I decided to just take it one product at a time and learn as I go and that has been what has worked best for me. As I find products I love, I incorporate them into my life. Heres a look at my morning oily routine…

One of my favorite things to do is pop a roller top right on the essential oil bottle and roll it all over myself. I should mention that some people are more sensitive than others and in many cases the best thing to do is to dilute the essential oil with a carrier oil in a glass roller to start. For whatever reason, I’m not quite as sensitive to many of the oils and I don’t have any issues rolling them right on me. I do definitely recommend diluting if you’re first starting out though, just to be safe.

I start my morning routine with Joy. I added a roller top right onto Joy and I roll it over my heart every morning. Joy is your happy oil. I love the way it smells and it totally uplifts me and makes me feel happy and joyful!

After that, comes valor. If you’re only going to get one oil, make it valor! (If you got your starter kit, you already have it!) It smells incredible and it is empowering. This one is all about emotional support and promoting courage. I think we could all use a bit of that each day don’t you think? I roll this on my wrists and inhale deeply. It’s also fun to put a little on the ends of your hair. Your hair can act like a natural diffuser and is a good way to keep those uplifting smells with you all day long.

After valor, I layer on Release. This is a newer oil to me recommended by my friend and Young Living enroller and I’m really glad I incorporated it into my routine. I treat this oil the same way I do with valor. I layer it right on top on my wrists, inhale and diffuse it in my hair. I really love the way the two oils smell together and it has become like a daily perfume for me. Release does exactly what it says, helps to release negative emotions. A great way to start the day if you ask me.

Idaho Blue Spruce is another favorite! This is the highest vibrational oil and I put a drop of this on the crown of my head to promote peace and security. There’s a lot of talk about good vibes these days and vibrational healing is a real thing. It’s something I’ve always been curious about and a topic I want to dive into more deeply. Perhaps a blog topic for the future :).

White Angelica is another favorite that I only discovered a few months ago. This one is known for promoting feelings of protection and emotional grounding. I roll this on each shoulder every morning. This is a great one to protect against negative energy. I recently discovered that I’m an empath and an HSP (highly sensitive person) and therefore very sensitive to the energies around me. This has been a topic I’ve researched quite a bit and I’m really interested in doing everything I can to protect my energy. White Angelica has quickly become a must have oil for me.

Envision is an oil that I actually didn’t order for myself initially. It was sent to me as a thank you for being a member from Young Living (they are always sending free stuff which I love). When I first smelled envision I didn’t know how I lived without it prior. I use this in my car diffuser and a client said to me, your car smells like a spa! It’s a blend of black spruce, geranium, orange, lavender, sage and rose and it is the most incredible smell. I started rolling it on me because I loved the smell so much but like all of the oils it actually has a use beyond the smell! Envision stimulates creativity and I roll it on my throat and temples to keep the creative vibes going throughout the day.

So that’s a wrap on my morning routine. I know it sounds like a lot, but it has sort of become second nature to me now, brush my teeth and put on my oils! An added benefit is that I love the way this collection of oils smells together. It becomes a perfect non toxic perfume blend that I get so many compliments on! If you’re wondering where I got those cool roller tops that pop right on the oil bottle, they’re available on the Young Living website.
